Mindy Conklin, MRT, RRT-ACCS, RRT, RCP, holds the distinction of being the first Advanced Practice Respiratory Therapist (APRT) in the United States and globally. In July 2023, she was appointed to this pioneering role by the VA Maryland Health Care System, marking a significant milestone in respiratory care .​
